Student
organizations and programs
whose main focus is student volunteerism
Welcome! As an urban university Wayne State recognizes its mission
to provide services to, and assist, the surrounding community.
The University is committed to providing volunteer opportunities
for our students with the goal of serving the needs of our community,
while enriching the lives of the students involved.
Volunteering
is a great way for students to feel good about themselves and
share their passions with others. This is accomplished through
a number of programs including our one-day off-campus service
projects, on-campus projects, the student volunteer group Project
Volunteer,
and our Detroit Alternative Spring Break program.
Whether you are an individual looking for a long term volunteer
opportunity (click
here) or a group looking for a one day event
to participate in (click
here), the Dean of Students Office can
help you find the best opportunity for you. With over 300 non-profits
in the Detroit Metro Area, there are always more opportunities
than there are volunteers.
Please
enjoy scanning our website for information about volunteer opportunities
sponsored by the Dean of Students Office.
If you would like more information about our volunteer programs
or have
questions about how to volunteer, contact a Campus Activities
Professional: email or stop by the Dean of Students Office
in Room 351 of the
Student Center.
